How We Got Started
Following the 2008 financial crisis, Darius Yuen left banking and founded SOW Asia Foundation to champion venture philanthropy and expand the boyhood lessons of giving taught by his father.
The name was chosen to convey the idea of providing resources to social entrepreneurs so that their sustainable projects could flourish along with the benefits they bring.
Today, SOW Asia has grown into a dynamic team of bright, energetic people keen to make a difference in the world by nurturing and growing a culture of social innovation.
We encourage you to join our mission of investing in humanity as we tackle some of our region’s greatest social and environmental challenges. Your support as either a Donor or Knowledge Volunteer can make a real difference. Start today!

In recognition of his work in establishing SOW Asia, Darius Yuen was named by Forbes Magazine as a "Hero of Philanthropy in Asia". In addition to Darius, one of SOW Asia's board members – Chung To, Founder of Chi Heng, was also honored.
